We always try to help our talent on camera look and feel great on camera. Often this can be done with wardrobe and make-up.
To dress for a slimming effect, remember: darker colors are slimming; light colors are not. Solid colors are slimming; bold patterns are not. A single color from head to toe (i.e. a suit) is slimming. Vertical lines are slimming; horizontal lines are not. This can apply to pleats as well as prints. The v-neck shape is slimming. This is achieved by the cut of a sport coat, or the v-neck opening in a shirt or sweater. Single-breasted jackets are more slimming than double-breasted. If you’ll be standing for a full-length portrait, high heels are slimming—as are clothes that are well tailored rather than too loose or too tight.

When many people hear the term “web design”, they often think of hours of time and energy spend writing long lines of code and creating graphical images for a website. Web design is easier than most people believe, and the web design tips in the following article will prove just that.
Creative Photography will help.
If you’re working on web design use the right graphics for the job. Remember, bitmap images are huge and usually don’t work well, PNGs work fine. For screenshots, text buttons, and other non-photographic images, use PNG if the image has more than 256 colors, and GIF if not. For photos, you can use JPEG images.

When you are creating new photos for your website, be sure to keep the file size small. If your graphics are too large, your page will load slowly and your visitors will leave. You can find many free or inexpensive graphics programs online that will optimize your images before you load them to your website.
Include unique pictures of your office space and workforce, instead of using stock photos all over your site. The more your visitors feel that they know who they are giving business to, the more likely they are to choose you over your competitors. This design tip can do more than you would think to boost your business.
Make sure that you include an “About Us” page on your site as you are designing it. Do not just add blocks of text that are boring to read – Jazz it up a bit! Provide background images, maybe include some photos of you as you work toward getting to the point where you are at today. Shoot your products and services and show them in the best light.
As stated before, people think of hours of coding and creating images when they think about web design. They don’t realize that web design isn’t as complicated as they believe. Using creative photography will help you design a better website.

If you’re using real talent in your product photography for your online business, be sure never to cut their heads from the photography. Many online companies have fallen into the trap. It is a false notion that it helps. Actually, it acts as a detriment to these products, as it strips away the image from your brand and has a tendency to unease the viewer.

Effective Advertising Photography
Get Lots of Light
Natural light works best for any type of photo and should be used whenever possible. Typically, shooting your photos during the day will grant the best results. What matters is not only the quantity of the light, but the uniformity of distribution as well.
These advertising images were shot entirely on location at the clients advertising and marketing seminar in downtown St Louis, Missouri. Some natural light, but we setup a 3 point light main system and supplemented with colored gels to add more visual interest.
